Cleveland Cavaliers Highlights

A Strong Spur’s Playoff Push

Are the Spurs the team to beat in the NBA?  They sure seem like it.  The team is on a roll and are sitting pretty close to the top of the Western Conference.  What other team in their Conference can you say is better?  Maybe the Oklahoma City Thunder, but each team has their strengths and weaknesses.

The Spurs are led by their floor general in Tony Parker.  He’s played an outstanding season so far.  Manu Ginobili can still light it up and Tim Duncan is as dependable for rebounds and blocks as he’s always been these past several years.

In this shortened 2012 NBA season, the San Antonio Spurs are positioned to win it all.  Catch what remaining games are left.  There are still a few marquee games that you can buy tickets for.   Or you can watch the Spurs beat up on some of the not so good teams such as the Kings and the Cavaliers.

Cleveland Cavaliers Background

The Cleveland Cavaliers play in the Central Division under the Eastern Conference. Historically, the Central Division has been very competitive to play in with the likes of the Bulls, Pistons, Pacers and Bucks all having very successful campaigns at one point or another. The Cavaliers really flourished under the LeBron James era, reaching the finals in 2007. Unfortunately, they were swept by the San Antonio Spurs in that title game.

By far, Lebron James is the most recognized player to have played for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Unfortunately, he no longer plays for the team, as James left the team to join the Miami Heat in 2010. Other notable ex-players include Mark Price, Brad Daugherty, Ron Harper and Zydrunas Ilgauskas.

The team name Cavaliers was chosen from a contest that was held. The image the name presents is that of a fearless and persevering team. The team was established in 1970.

Throughout the team's history, the Cavaliers have had several rivalries that have picked up and gone done. Historically, the Cavaliers have had good stretches of intense game play against the Chicago Bulls and the Detroit Pistons. More recently it has been the Boston Celtics and maybe even the Miami Heat.
